In my engineering class, I was tasked with designing and creating a more comfortable space to work from home, an essential during this pandemic. My idea is a modular desk riser. I put in lots of research into what components and features most people require in a desk to create the best working environment. The main feature of this product is the sit/stand function. Using collapsing X-shaped legs attached to a rail system on the frame to lower and raise the desk to function as a sit or stand desk. This whole system is not a stand-alone desk, but instead goes on top of a desk as an add-on, hence the name "Desk On A Desk." This desk is fully modular, with many different parts that can be attached such as a pencil holder, cupholder, plant holder, storage space, VESA monitor mount, among others. The accessories are made of rigid PVC plastic, the platforms are made of MDF particleboard. The VESA mount, USB hub, legs, supports, and frames are all made of stainless steel. This product provides a fully modular, comfortable, and productive workspace to use at home or in an office.

In my engineering class, I was tasked with designing and creating a pendant that can be used to symbolize our class. I compiled all of the different aspects of our class into my design. The general shape of the pendant is a gear, to show the engineering aspect of the class. In the middle of the gear is my school's mascot, the Longhorn and in large letters in place of some of the gear teeth at the top spells out "LEIGH" to represent my school. Embedded into the longhorn is the number "2021" to show our graduating year. Finally, above the longhorn are the letters "PLTW" to represent our engineering program.

My engineering group and I came up with an idea for a convenient portable container to carry everyday amenities such as gum, breath mints, dietary pills, face masks, and other small items.
